Working with Goddess Hecate

I am proud of the connection I have to Hecate. The Goddess of Witchcraft is a powerful, compassionate force to reckon with. As practitioners, we follow the path lit by her flame. Communing with Her can be as simple as verbally addressing Her by name through prayer. Leaving an offering (big or small) is another effective way to convene with any Goddess, Hecate is no exception. I would strongly advise leaving an offering if you are asking for something specific, or casting a spell with certain intentions in mind. Deities are more likely to intervene when they have been pleased with an offering.
Hecate will bring you comfort in the truth, you must open your heart to receive Her gifts of knowledge. Personally, I feel that no call for Hecate has ever gone ignored... She has a way of always making me feel heard. She answers questions for me that I was too afraid to even ask, holding Her torch to show me the way. Sometimes, knowing can be pain; but knowing is also necessary. In short, She is tough love; but love nonetheless. The relationship that I share with Hecate is one that I certainly cherish.
Below, I've listed a few options for potential offerings to Hecate. Her symbols include keys, black dogs, and torches. For color correspondence, she is associated with black. Black crystals (tourmaline, obsidian, smoky quartz, etc.) and black candles can be used in rituals to Hecate. You may feel called to Hecate when your life has come to a crossroads, yet another one of Her symbols. As the torchbearer, she will light the way for you as you decide your path. You also may feel called to Hecate when you're ready to explore your craft, and/or delve deeper into your practice.
